At a minimum, the filters should be changed every three months even if they don’t seem to have accumulated a great deal of dust, dirt or hair. They still may be covered with less visible particles such as pollen and pet dander. Heating technicians also recommend using a pleated filter instead of the cheapest flat fiberglass models.
